In much of rural America the internet question is not which provider offers the best price. It is which technologies physically reach the property at all. What satellite internet actually is
Satellite internet splits into two families that deserve separate treatment. Geostationary services park their satellites roughly 22,000 miles above the equator, where one spacecraft can cover an enormous footprint permanently. Households obsess over download speed and then judge a connection by something else entirely: how quickly it responds. Latency is the delay before a transfer begins, and it governs how a video call feels, whether a page seems to snap open, and whether an online game is playable at all.
As a rough ordering, wired connections respond fastest, fixed wireless is typically a little slower but comfortable for calls and most gaming, low-earth-orbit satellite sits somewhere near the slower end of usable, and geostationary satellite is in a category of its own, with delays large enough to be obvious in conversation. Exact figures vary by provider, distance and congestion, so treat that as a hierarchy rather than a table of numbers.

The question to ask is not whether the plan is unlimited. It is what happens after heavy usage. Weather, obstructions and where the hardware sits
Satellite needs an unobstructed view of the sky, and heavy rain or wet snow between your dish and the satellite can degrade the link, an effect known as rain fade. Trees that were a manageable nuisance in winter can become a real problem when they leaf out in spring.
Fixed wireless has its own version of the same problem. It generally needs a clear path to the tower, and the higher frequencies used by some 5G home internet services are noticeably fussier about walls, foliage and window glass than the low-band signal your phone uses.
